MagIC KniGHT RaYEarTH

Three 8th grade girls are summoned from Tokyo Towers into a magical new land called Cephiro. Upon arriving they meet Master Mage Clef, who explains to Hikaru, Umi and Foo that they are to become the legendary Magic Knights who will save Cephiro from Lord Zagato and his Minions. Lord Zagato has imprisoned Princess Emeraude, who is the rightful ruler of the once beautiful Cephiro, and is trying to destroy the Kingdom. Master Mage Clef informs the girls what they need to do in order to become the Magic Knights, so that can save Cephiro and return home to Tokyo. He gives them evolving armor and magic, just as one of Zagato’s Minions interrupts them. He directs them to see a blacksmith named Presea to acquire weapons that evolve.

Their armor and weapons evolve as they grow in strength, emotionally. After receiving their weapons they are given Makona, an adorable creature who guides them through their journey. Literally supplying them with anything they need.

Their next step is to revive the Rune God, fighting monsters and Zagato’s Minions along the way. After reviving the Rune God they will become Magic Knights and then be ready to fulfill their mission to save princess Emeraude.

Against Worlds of Worlds

I think many people are troubled by the rampant so-called “Addiction” of the youth nowadays with computers. I think otherwise, why because I’d rather let my brothers crave in online games than drugs. These are just among the outcome of the onslaught of the technology things such as chatting, net surfing etc. I would love to play online games if only given the opportunity to do so but restraints such as time availability is present. I think self-discipline is a matter that the youth should know of.

If we truly value people, we must also value their new learning like fondness in games online. Like us, they are free. we must let them soar into worlds where they are quite faced with challenges wherein they learn to be independent. But, we must always be there to guide them. There are even a lot of things for us to do one just needs to discover what the world has to offer.

Fan-antic

Nowadays, its really everything about getting hot. The weather seem too hot that one could think that were really on the verge of facing Global Warming. This is really a threat. After all the CFC issues I realized that maybe we could prevent ozone depletion by using ceiling fans instead of air conditioning that costs much. I’ve seen many documentations especially the one which Al Gore presented and it was quite alarming how the Earth is really heating-up literally. But this is such a grave issue to discuss so why not consider using ceiling fans instead. Yup! I’ve seen them in most homes already. And there are things such as craftmade ceiling fans, ellington fans, and fanimation I’ve seen on the net. These fans work as decorations that can even be disguised through a chandelier!

It works like magic! In our house, we’ve had almost three ceiling fans and two stand-up fans. Without any prejudice, I really prefer ceiling fans that the latter because the air is well ventilated inside the house. The warm air is cooled down. And so are the homes where there are fans around. This makes the head of our irritated mom cool! You see you can always beat the heat whenever you decide from being creative and reasonable in home considerations. You can always be a fan-antic anytime when there’s heat to beat. (- o -)

Mat Mania

In our CL 150 class we have discussed the story entitled “The Mats” by Francisco Arcellana. It is indeed a very moving piece. It revealed how a family is tied through relations and how each is affected by the deaths of loved ones. The significance of mats is shown in such that these things have been part of life. There I’ve read that mats were significant to the Garcia family. The father took home gift for each member a mat which was embroidered with their names and icons which represent their dream careers. But at the later part, I realized the feeling of the father for having lost his own children. The story was heart wrenching yet it was very expressive of the happiness that was once there evident in the family’s completeness. Then, I appreciated mats as they are.

Nowadays, mats are used for decorative purposes and also for any other uses for mats have been revolutionized to fit needs. Along time ago, mats were only made of Abaca or plant fibers but now through modern technology they are made more pleasing because of their various colors and textures. Anyhow I also love watching mat weavers because each intricate design is painstakingly done.

I’ve seen mats everywhere whether be it on beaches and picnics. This is because mats are convenient to carry in any type of excursions. When my friends and I went to have a picnic, I brought along with me a checkered cloth but it was not good enough to sit on because the grass was still moist and wet from last night’s rain, the picnic was almost ruined if not for the mat that another friend brought. We had a fun time watching the clouds and birds that early morning. I did feel how comforting it was to spend a morning together with one’s friends be it on the beaches or picnics when everyone huddles on a cozy mat.

Atubang sa Kawad-on(Upon Facing Nothingness)

Samut kong nabati,

na adunay mga butang nga dili mamahimong ako-

sa dihang malantawan ang hulagway mo.

Kun ibasol mo kanako

ang sala akong angkunon

alang kanimo

Samut kong nabati,

Nga dili palabihon ang gugmas kasing-kasing

Kay dili kini atol sa oras paghinigugma-ay.

Easy Help For My Dream House

It’s where everything should start- Dreams and later still dreaming of it more. In that way, one can think of aspiring for one’s goals in life. I’ve always had dream houses even when I was still young, I used to draw on sheets of paper scribbled constructions of my dream houses. The concrete houses I see on subdivisions aren’t as grandiose as the houses I dream of building in the future. And I start to live in that dream.

Then I wondered about the difficulty I’d encounter for the maintenance of such a big dream houses. Where would I get help in fixing things? I won’t always have time to check in tool and hardware shops to find all things I need. It would cost me much time. But the habit of delaying repairs can ruin a household eventually if taken for granted. So there’s always a need to make one’s self worry free from all the hassle of housekeeping. I came to realize that it doesn’t matter that one won’t be able to build one’s own dream house, what matters is that a simple house becomes a welcoming home.

basketball tidbits

Dr. James Naismith is known world-wide as the inventor of basketball. He was born in 1861 in Ramsay township, near Almonte, Ontario, Canada. The concept of basketball was born out of his early school days when he played a simple game known as duck-on-a-rock outside his schoolhouse. The game involved attempting to knock a “duck” off the top of a large rock by tossing another rock at it. This is the beginning of a brief history of basketball as we know it.

Naismith served as at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA in 1891, and this is where the sport of basketball was born. Naismith was faced with the challenge of finding a sport that was suitable for play inside during the winter for the students. Naismith wanted to create a game of skill that could be played indoors in a relatively small space. The very first game of basketball was played with a soccer ball

and two peach baskets used as goals. The history of basketball started right here.

James Naismith devised a set rules for these early games as follows:

„« The ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both hands.

„« A player cannot run with the ball, but instead the player must throw it from the spot on which he catches it.

„« The ball must be held in or between the hands, not any other body parts.

„« No shouldering, holding, pushing, striking or tripping in any way of an opponent is permitted. The first infringement of this rule by any person shall count as a foul; the second shall disqualify him until the next goal is scored.

„« If either side make three consecutive fouls it shall count as a goal for the opponents (consecutive in these rules means without the opponents in the meantime making a foul of their own).

„« A goal is scored when the ball is thrown from the ground into the basket and stays there. If the ball rests on the edge of the basket and the opponents move the basket, it shall also count as a goal.

„« When the ball goes out of bounds, it shall be thrown into the field and played by the first person touching it.

„« The umpire shall be judge and have the power to disqualify or foul players as required.

„« The referee shall be the judge of the ball and decide when it is in play in bounds, to which side it belongs, and shall keep the time.

„« The time shall be two 15-minute halves with five minutes’ rest between.

„« The side scoring the most goals in that time shall be declared the winners.

Today basketball has grown to become one of the world’s most popular sports, all thanks to Dr Naismith.

“Rest In Pieces”

Look at me, my depth perception must be off again
Cause this hurts deeper than I thought it did
It has not healed with time
It just shot down my spine. you look so beautiful tonight
Remind me how you laid us down
And gently smiled before you destroyed my life
Would you find it in your heart
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make it go away
And let me rest in pieces
Look at me, my depth perception must be off again
You got much closer than I thought you did
Im in your reach
You held me in your hands
But could you find it in your heart?
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make it go away
And let me rest in pieces

I really like this song it seems so sincere to a loved one. Hope you’ll like it too…

Soccer Mania

I am very happy being part of the UPMin Football Ladies Varsity. Soccer is such an important thing in my life because I get to show the other side of me in the field. I don’t care if I’d smell after the practices because I am happy being there. Among the best things that ever happen to any soccer player is winning a game. There is no sweeter victory than that which one strived for.

When you play soccer, be as carefree as the rolling ball and remember that there are many things in life that has been part of your life.

Girls do kick balls!!!
